I have been trying to add a couple of short bits of video to youtube. When I come to sign on and publish the video it tells me the user name or password are incorrect. I have checked the user name = correct and I have gone through the forgotten password hoops and changed my password several times, that was in case I had made a booboo, but it still insists that my Google sing in isn't correct.

It's driving me up the dammed wall, so please, if anyone has any ideas can they let me know!!

As an aside. If I go to my youtube page then I am signed on!!!

What version of iMovie are you using? Older versions seem to be having problems. Current version is 10.0.9. Are you using two step verification in your Google Account? Do you have a Google account or Google + account? Either of these could be an issue. If you are using two-step verification, you have to go to your Google+ account and generate an app specific code for iMovie to upload to your account. Here is a link I found with a bunch of ideas. If you read down to the second half of the posts there might be an idea or two to try.

I wish I had more but I have not had the issue with iMovie or Final Cut Pro. I do have a Google+ account and I do not use two step verification - it drove me crazy!

It's very possible that, if you're using an older version, the API (or functionality that iMovie taps into), has been deprecated or removed and thus, has ceased to work. As with Lisa, I'm curious to know what version you're running.

At the moment I am using iMovie 09 ver 8.0.0, so I would hazard a guess that it needs upgrading.

How do I download the latest iMovie? I have had a quick look but couldn't find it? At the moment I am very tired and have an stinking ear ache!!! Concentration is not at it's best at the moment I'm afraid.

You should be offered an upgrade through the App Store. Have you checked there?

Vansmith, when I have done various other upgrades there haven't been any for iMovie that I have seen. I have decided that I may as well go to iMovie11 and I am upgrading it at the moment. The App store page seems to have downloaded it and now gives the 'Open' option, but nothing seems to be happening when I click on it? I have to say that it isn't the most user friendly page anyway, all it said during the download was 'installing' with no indication of progress.

I have had a look at your link PM and there doesn't seem to be anything there that covers my problem? I will try again when I have 11 installed. Ta for the link though, it will probably be very useful when I do get on there and get lost :))

Should be. My gmail email address and password is what I use for google and YouTube. I am not sure if that was ever different. If you can access your YouTube Dashboard with the User name and Password then that should be the correct ones.
