iTunes U library on iPad and Macbook Pro

I don't have many problems syncing my iPad with iTunes on my Mackbook Pro, but one thing that never seems to update is my iTunes U library from my iPad. It doesn't matter if I sync wirelessly or by hooking up via USB. The only courses I have on my Macbook are the ones I uploaded directly there, but I have most of my courses on the iPad, and it would be a pain to have to re-upload all those on the Macbook too. Anybody have a similar problem, and what have you tried? Thanks to anybody who has a solution to this.
