I have been running W7 pro next to OSX for quite a while. OSX = 10.10.1, W7 has been freshly installed per Apple instructions.
A few days ago I bought an OWC Mercury Pro Elite Dual, a dual bay TB/USB 3 enclosure. My iMac has TB, no USB 3, with TB I would get proper read/write speeds, I hoped.
But I ran into trouble: what works very well without, does not work at all with the Elite: with the latter connected via Thunderbolt, W7 does not boot. All I get at boot-up is a black screen and a blinking cursor.
When I disconnect the TB cable, both OSX and W7 boot just fine, as they always have. Either by Option-key at startup, or by selecting the start-up disk in OSX. Connect the Elite via TB, everything shows, but only OSX boots. I tried every combo of settings, no go.
I also have a DeLock 2.5" TB enclosure, and this works fine. So it's the Elite, not the mac...
Anyone here familiar with this OWC drive, and can help me out? I do not need windows that often, but when I do, I really do. I would like to get my $600 (box + drives) investment up and running...
