xGrid - Intel and PPC?

I was wondering, can you use intel and ppc processors together on an xGrid network or is the technology either not yet available on intel systems, or does not work together?

Before you get too exited Xgrid is not what you'd think. I thought it was a real time processor network but it's not. Jobs need to be submitted to the Xgrid via command line.

I don't know how it works, but I have had final cut rendering in on my powerbook and both it and my powermac are set up on xgrid and the second that I plugged my powerbook into the network, the render time was cut from 45 minutes down to 5... so is final cut able to work with this technology.. it happens every time so that is what i thought was happening?

You need OS X server to run as an Xgrid Controller. OS X allows machines to be clients but that's it.
