I recently removed the HD from my wife's old eMac and she is not that pleased. I believe the HD is a Ultra ATA/100 and she currently has a Macbook Air. Is there a way to read the old HD on the Macbook air so as to extract an necessary files?

Place the drive in a ATA usb external carrier (if you can find one) or better yet, buy an adapter (self powered) and attach her old drive to the MacBook Air and drag and drop what she needs on to the Air.

Just be aware anything in older PowerPC format will not run on the Air. This will include Office 2004 etc. And darcy that not pleased state is pretty precarious.
