Is it worth purchasing "MacKeeper"? I have the free version and when it is running, it seems to slow down my MacBookPro (8 years old, using snow Leopard).

We reviewed MacKeeper some time ago here in our forums. The extensive review was done by one of our Administrators. Bottom line: Get rid of it, it's not needed and will likely cause problems for you. Make sure you use their uninstall instructions as it's difficult to remove.

Thanks for verifying that.:) Just one more individual experience to add to the many others…that installing MacKeeper is just a bad idea!

Thanks

I went back and read the Administators excellent discussion. I have uninstalled it, and it appears to be gone.
