Hi guys,

My old Macbook 13" was running Lion and Bootcamp with Windows XP for years and they were/are perfect for my needs and I own both.

So my HD died, I installed a new one, got back to Lion and today I find I can't install my copy of Win XP on Bootcamp.

I infrequently need 2 bespoke programs under Windows. I'm not going to buy Win 7 or 8 and don't see why I should have to as I already had what I need running on my machine.

Is there any way to get Win XP onto Bootcamp these days?

I had the same problem on my MacBook Pro. Started with XP which worked fine. Somewhere along the way, maybe after a BootCamp update, I found I could not re-install. The solution I found was to import the BootCamp partition into a virtual machine. I used Fusion but it should work with Parallels and perhaps with Virtual Box.

Windows XP is no longer supported in Boot Camp. Follow Moderator Slydude's advice if you really must have XP.
