how to get rid of adware and etc?

I just got a awesome new hosts file that blocks ads, 3rd party Cookies, 3rd party page counters, web bugs, and even most hijackers

However just to be certain I want to do a cleansing to get rid of any junk that may currently be on my system. What would you recommend for this?

Also btw, what browser do you guys use? I'm no longer a fan of firefox or chrome, so I think I'm going back to safari.

It shouldn't be necessary to do any additional cleansing. And yes, Safari is probably the best browser to use since Apple keeps it up to date as far as security is concerned. Chrome and Firefox are also kept up to date but perhaps not as well as Safari is.
