Google just bought the APP Word Lens and it is currently available for free with all the in-APP Language Packs free as well.
Possible limited time offer, so if you are interested, jump on it.
I'm playing with it now and seems to work fairly well.

Thanks a lot!! :P O:)

I have admitted to my weakness before . . . but I get a pass here because this is FREE.
Engineer rules at an EXPO say you don't have to need any of the freebies being handed out at the display booths as long as you still have room in your bag.

Thanks for the heads up. Not sure I'll need it but like RavingMac says "I still have room in my bag"

Plenty room in the bag - don't forget to open it up and add all the translation languages while they're free.

I tried this last night and I have to say, it's quite impressive. It's certainly not perfect but it gets the job done for a quick and rough translation.

Thanks for the reminder. I haven't done that yet.

Off to Russia in a couple of months - this app is going to be brilliant!!! Practising on Russian images from Google images displayed on iPad. Am totally amazed.

What a great app for the frequent traveller, thanks for the tip unfortunately it doesn't yet have the languages I need ie. Thai and Indonesian but I'm guessing it won't be long so I've downloaded the app while it free.
Cheers, :)
