Help, Backup Won't Complete

My Time Capsule has been faithfully backing up my two Macs for a few years. Suddenly, now, I keep getting this error message on my iMac:


Time Machine could not complete the backup.

The backup disk image “/Volumes/gloriapattismyth’s Time Capsule/gloriapattismyth’s iMac.sparsebundle” could not be accessed (error-1).


Do I need to reinstall my OS or something? I'm using Snow Leopard.

A few things for you to try:

Time Machine - Troubleshooting C17. . . . sparse bundle could not be accessed (error -1)

Please let us know if none of those helps you out. A lot of people seem to claim that the Western Digital SmartWare application is the primary culprit..

I rebooted my Time Capsule and it seems to have worked. Fingers crossed. Thank you!

Heh, sometimes all it takes is a good reboot..I probably imagine that you Time Capsule hasn't been rebooted in quite a while..so that's great it's resolved..

Might want to keep this post or that thread handy should it happen again to try out other things in the future..
