The answer may be here but I can't find it.

Home user. Fully Mac from ISP Router inward. Using an Airport Extreme Base Station for Wifi. Have 2 Macbook Pros, both running OSX 10.8.2. We use one Brother MFC-7840W as a wireless network printer. We have had this setup through Snow Leopard and Lion. The printer has always worked for both MacBooks.

Since upgrading to Mountain Lion (10.8.2) we have one Macbook that intermittently loses connection to the printer. We can see it. But it will not respond. We have downloaded the latest drivers from Brother to both MacBooks. No difference. Sometimes it is there sometimes the printer stops responding. We have been able to recover by deleting the printer on the Macbook that has lost connection and reinstalling it. That works for awhile but then the printer drops again.

One last fact. The MacBook that has no problems, connects wirelessly but is in the same room (most of the time, though not all of the time) with the printer. The one that has trouble is generally in an other room. But then that's why we have wifi, right? And the wifi works for other equipment like streaming videos to TV, also in another room.

Don't want to keep playing this game. Anyone have any ideas?
