Apple in-store pickup...how long can it sit?

Didn't really know which forum this fit in.

Thinking about buying an iPad Mini and will be in the NY area in 2 weeks. An order online shows about a 1 week delivery but it's in-stock at the 5th Avenue store for an in-store pick up. I've never been to the 5th Ave. store so thought it'd be cool to check out.

Problem is I don't know the exact day I can go.

Any problem letting an in-store pick up sit for a week before I get it?

Maybe you don't need to order a iPad mini. Maybe they will be in stock when you walk into the store in 2 weeks.:)

Well, I want to order one for 2 reasons:

1. They might just be out of stock and I want to have it for the NY-SF flight I'm taking a few days later; so for security

2. Just to try it out; I like to try out new services when possible to see how they work, and I thought it was a good idea to test it out

Couldn't see anything on the Apple site about how long it would be kept available, but without calling them to ask, I'd guess they'd keep it for as long as necessary and would probably contact me if something sat for an excessive time.
