I've got a 2012 macbook pro retina 15" running OS X 10.8.2, and a Firestudio firewire audio interface (connected with a firewire/thunderbolt adaptor).
Since getting this computer, I'm not able to successfully switch audio devices without rebooting the computer or logging off and on, ie. no sound comes out of the newly chosen device until I reboot or log off. Basically I like to switch between built-in speakers, Soundflower, and the Firestudio device for various reasons, and haven't had a problem with this on my previous macbook pro with the same devices.
Has anyone else had this problem with a corresponding solution? Could this be a firewire/thunderbolt problem? Or is it a OS X Mountain Lion bug?
Thanks!
