Running Windows 8 from external HDD through Mac Book Pro

I wish to run Windows 8 from an external hdd drive i purchased today Seagate Backup Plus

i can not fathom out how to do this can you advise please

You can't. Microsoft restricts running any version of Windows from other than an internal hard drive. You can, however, run Windows 8 as a virtual machine from an external hard drive but you will need either Parallels, Fusion, or the free VirtualBox VM software in order to do so.
