Well down here in Straya it has now clocked over to 2013 . . . . So Happy New Year friends :)

Post here in what your New Years Resolution is going to be, what Mac/ product you are going to spoil yourself with, what venture you are going to undertake, or about anything you will do this year that you couldn't accomplish last year that you can this year.

I know it might be hard for some, especially those in the US, because as I'm writing this post, it looks like the Democrats and Republicans can't come to a resolution themselves and you could be going over the cliff and into a recession . . .

Anyways ill start :
1st and foremost, yet again ill try giving up the durries (smokes) as i promised my mother i would before she passes.
2nd Ill be hitting a non-carb diet to she some belly fat to get around 88KGs so the surgeon can put a knife to me and i will finally get my back operation.
3rd because I'm not working, at least until September, i will volunteer to help those less fortunate than me
4th and lastly I'm going to learn something by correspondence to set myself up for work when and if i can go back and it will be in IT . . . .

Whats yours ??

I think I'm going to stick with 1920x1080 on my external and 1280x800 on my MacBook Pro. They've been pretty good to me this year.

Happy New Year, Brent!

Resolutions:

1) Gain 10lbs
2) Pickup one new bad habit
3) Make a new enemy

And last, but not least

4) Like always . . . fail to keep any of my resolutions ;)

I'm pretty bad with resolutions, so I stopped making them a long time ago..but I think I will make a resolution to lose about 15 or so lbs and get a little thinner in the waist like I was in my 20's..but we'll see..:)

Amen to that ;D

1) To have less than 9 speeding tickets in 2013
2) To practice a lot so I can compete in the 2014 Belgian Angling championship, After 13 years I want to know if I can still compete with these guys ! I beat them once, and I would like to do that one more time.

Cheers ... McBie

Hey Brent:

Do you know which two most popular resolutions are broken within one week or less of the new year?

1. Give up smoking

2. Go on a diet

:p

But on a more serious note, here are 10 great resolutions to live by written approximately 2700 years ago by Solomon: Proverbs 3:1-32 O:)

It's a shame you aren't sticking to these because I might have been able to help you with those. ;)

I find New Year's resolutions are too scary to make...since it can be VERY disappointing when they are broken!!

Now you have my curiosity piqued. :p

As to Mac acquisitions, if Apple comes out with a significant upgrade on he Mac Pro then yes

Considering how hard New Year's resolutions can be (such as losing weight or stopping smoking). An almost equally hard New Years resolution for me to stick to (in an electronic item kind of way)...is to NOT purchase or acquire any Apple/Macintosh electronic devices in 2013 (new, used, refurbished, free, gifts, trash-can, dumpster, etc.)!!!;)

How about:

Backup more often,
Buy no more than 1 Apple product per year,
Limit my iPhone apps to just 3 pages,
Spend more time doing than reading what others have done

Happy New Year all!

Resolutions:
1) I quit smoking in August via eCigs, so my "health" resolution is to quit eCigs this year
2) Finally set some money aside and follow though with LASIK for my "just for me" resolution
3) Visit both sides of my family for 1 holiday each this year for my "family" resolution
4) Set up a trust so .gov gets as little of my stuff as possible if I croak for some reason for my "wife & kids" resolution
5) Back to school for some sort of non-IT alternate career for when IT eventually becomes the low paying high turnover job for my "reality check" resolution

That's a great list you got there.

Now for my real resolutions

1) Avoid Popeyes Fried Chicken (one of my major carb sources and diet torpedoes)
2) Start running again - been off for about 2 months due to sins infection and knee injury
3) And, I like the "Spend more time doing . . ." idea

This is why I don't do resolutions - lofty goals are only ever good in spirit. I'm just going to stick to my ongoing goal of being a better person.

And that is easiest to do when your potential for movement is unidirectional . . . ;) O:)

Implying? Moi?

I thought I was much more direct than that . . . ;)

EDIT: My New Year is off to a good start. Barely 10 hrs old and I've already received my first Ban threat . . . I can tell 2013 is going to be a special year.
