Since the latest iTunes update my wife's ipad will not sync with my Mac OSX 10.6.8. It acknowledges the correct iPad but that's all. I cannot sync pics etc. The iTunes app is constantly popping up on my screen saying that iTunes cannot read the contents of my wive's iPad and suggesting that if there is a problem with the ipad to restore it, which of course will remove everything on it.

Have you tried a different cable and a hard reset of the ipad (holding sleep/wake and home button until the screen goes blank and the Apple logo appears)

Just save yourself the headache and go back down to 10.7 (there's two ways to do it):

Unless you absolutely need iTunes 11. Apparently (via Google search), you're not the only one with this issue.
