Just curious, what's so special about him?

Do you actually not know??
I could hit a word count limit on this forum trying to explain, but I'll refrain and just say that he's in the Inventor's Hall of Fame. His innovations in computer design, computer language design and other inventions were greatly responsible for turning computers into something regular people could use and afford.
Think about how the world has changed because that happened. Bear in mind that if we'd left it up to the people before Woz, it likely wouldn't have happened -- or at least not for a very long time -- because computers would have been too complex for most people to comprehend. It was on a path to being a specialist profession like brain surgery. Woz (and Jobs) changed that.
He has a interesting insight into the birth and growth of the personal computer (and gaming) industry, is very self-effacing and funny (not the best public speaker I've ever seen, but gracious and smart and full of insightful stories). He continues to be a strong advocate for science and technology education and a champion of new innovations -- even when they aren't from Apple.
WELL worth spending some time with if you are lucky enough to do so. I have been so lucky and even in the brief times I have had with him, I have gained some knowledge and insight and even a little philosophy from him. Meeting Woz is like meeting -- oh, let's say Alexander Graham Bell.
