iPad and program files

I am trying to download and install an adobe photo program to my iPad. This is a .dmg file. When I try to download via Safari it tells me that Safari is unable to download the file. Is this because of a problem with safari or becausethe iPad isn't able to handle an install and execute file?

I want to be able to process my camera photo files on my iPad. Any help or suggestions appreciated!

DMG files are for OSX. What kind of processing do you want to do? If you want a photo app - go to the App Store. There are a myriad of photo apps - including several from Adobe. Unless you jailbreak - apps for the ipad come from the App Store.
