How lenient are they with warranty dates.

Having previously worked in the auto industry i found car manufacturers will often be lenient with dates a week or so over.
What about apple as i woke up this morning and the on/off button doesn't work anymore on my 4. Im sure its about a week outside the warranty, I have booked an appointment for next Saturday morning but really don't want to have to pay £100 for a replacement.

It depends. Some of our members have reported having work done for free on their Apple devices which were out of warranty, while others have not been so lucky.

I was two days out of warranty on my Blackberry and the mobile 'service' provider here in Canada (Rogers) declined coverage.

I've heard great things about friends visits to the Apple store under your circumstances, however.

Good news as I had been in about a month ago complaining that the home button wasnt working properly (it wasn't and still wasnt when they fobbed me off) I managed to say that on the last visit both buttons had been getting unresponsive so they changed it for a refurbished phone well happy really did not want to have to fork out for a phone that had just gone out of warranty.

Well apparently I bought my phone on a leap year, so Nov 8 2011 and Nov 8 2012 isn't really a year apart.
