The original 2t hard drive that came with my mid 2010 Mac Pro is almost full. When I install the second hard drive, is there a reason to partition it? I'm a semi pro photographer and I think all I really want to do is add more space.
Thanks In advace

If all you are looking for is extra storage space…then I don't see a reason to partition. But if you wanted to have a "bootcamp" partition to run Windows…or wanted a hard drive with multiple bootable Mac OS partitions (say OS 10.6 or OS 10.7 on one partition & OS 10.8 on another)…that could be a reason to partition.
