Having an issue getting some devices to connect to my new (this year) Airport Extreme. I have a 10/100 hub which is several years old which I thought might be the problem but now I'm having doubts based on this post and this post.
I thought maybe I needed a gigabit switch. The biggest issue is with the internet connection to my DirectTV receiver which is only happy being connected directly to the AE. I am adding more devices to my network and will need to utilize a couple of hubs. Specific questions:
Should I switch out the hub for a switch?
Should I avoid daisy-chaining any hubs and/or switches?
Any other considerations to extend my network?
