First let's recap the rules that we started out with in August:

Each member can post one photo in this thread each month.
The photo needs to be taken in the month covered in the thread title.
The photo cannot be larger than 800x600.
Please include the camera you took the picture with and the date of the picture in the description.
This thread is about sharing your photo not discussing technique, opinions of what is art, or to make disparaging comments on someone's picture. If you would like to discuss those things, please start a new thread.

Because of the fires out east of DFW we had this amazing haze for a day or so. Although everything smelled like smoke it made for some really cool lighting. This pic has not been altered in PS except a little bit of level adjustments.

Canon 350D - 22mm(EF-S 18-55mm)/f3.5/15.0s

San Buena Ventura Courthouse, Ventura California.

The statue in front is Father Junipero Serra, Spanish Missionary and founder of all of the Spanish Missions in California.
Mission San Buena Ventura was the last Spanish Mission to be founded in California.

The lantern on the right indicates that this is a stop on the California Mission Trail.

Picture taken 06 Jan 2006, Ventura, Ca. with a Nikon D50 / 18-55mm Nikor lens, Auto setting.

The wildlife thinks its spring time with our current temps. Hopefully they realize it is not and head back south before it turns nasty again. This will be mine for the month, taken yesterday there were about 6-8 Eastern Bluebirds in my backyard staking out nesting boxes. These two were fighting for territory.

Actually that is a star :) the RAW processing in Aperture seems to be a little harsh to overexposed light (hence the dark ring around it). Good catch though.

That is what I thought after I blew it up even farther. Glad it's not the Camera! Great pic.

I took this in St. John, US Virgin Islands.

It is a stack of kayaks that I thought looked cool.

I used my Casio Exilim 4.0 megapixel camera. I love the oversized viewscreen on the back.

Well since something went wrong with my other picture I guess I can post another. For some reason the reds in the shrunken picture look more orange than they really are, the full sized image looks better.

EDIT: hmm maybe it's just my browser, I opened it in Preview and it looked fine.
