Does anyone know the pricing scale for the iPhone 5 when signing a one year contract?

I don't think AT&T offers one year contracts on the iPhone at all. If they did, I'd definitely be interested in learning about it as well. I was grateful my Verzion contract with my Droid X was only a year.

I don't think anyone is offering a 1 year contract on the iPhone. Anyone being AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint. (I'm surprised XJ was able to get a 1 year contract from Verizon for the Droid.)

Yeah, the DX contract was back in the Summer of 2010, when the original IP4 came out and unlimited data plans were so common, they weren't even worth mentioning.

I think you guys are misinterpreting the OP. I believe he's saying he is one year into his two-year contract and doesn't yet qualify for a free upgrade.
ISTR that *in some cases* AT&T will let some customers "buy out" their remaining contract for $250 and then qualify for a new iPhone 5 for $199 (and a new two-year contract). Couldn't hurt to call in and ask.
Otherwise, consider yourself first in line for the iPhone 6!
