When is iPhone preorder available? Midnight or 8am?

I've never done the preorder before and wondering if I should be online at midnight on Thursday, or order first thing Friday.

It's available now from Apple and the major US carriers. I predict the pre-orders will sell out quickly, so I wouldn't wait too terribly long.
