Gaming With VMware

Hey All,
I recently switched to a mac because they're a bit more resilient and laste a bit longer but up until a few years ago I was all windows. As a result, I have a bunch of older windows games that I can't play. I was given a copy of VMware fusion (3.1.3) which I thought would allow me to play them, but when I start a game they all work but are super choppy and frame-by-frame. I've tried reinstalling VMware tools, starting the games in compatibility mode and disabling hard disk buffering, but none of them have really helped much. I'm at a loss. Please help!

Gaming in a VM is never going to be a pleasant experience because they don't have direct access to the video card. If you want to play those Windows games, you'll have to install Windows through Boot Camp.

Exactly what vansmith said. I have fusion installed and it's painful. Go with bootcamp it is the only way to game!

I actually play multiple games with VMWare and they seem to play fine on both my Early 2011 iMac and my Mid 2010 MacBook. These include the old GTA games (I, II, III etc) as well Rise of Nations....
