I'm having major problems with my 4 year old MacBook Pro overheating and going black (like sleep mode vs. needing to restart.) Generally happens when I'm watching a movie on Netflx, and after cooling it off for a few minutes I can start back where I left off. Any ideas? I love this machine, and it only started happening when I started watching a lot of movies, or streaming a radio station at night. Thanks for any advice/feedback.

It's possible the machine is clogged with dust and dirt around the fans. Go to iFixit: The free repair manual and find the instructions for opening it up. Clean the fans, intake, and general area around the logic board. If you're not up to doing it yourself, take it to someone (preferably an authorized Apple dealer or store) and have them do it.
