Hello All,

I am trying to create a sharing environment between my Windows 7 system and my macbook Pro Lion OSX. I have been able to get the windows to recognize the macbook pro, but i am unable to get the mac to access the windows. Whenever I try to login it comes up with Connection Failed.

Also on the windows side, I can copy files from the windows side to the mac, but I cannot the other way around. The files have been downloaded from the internet if that makes a difference. The error that comes up is Invalid MS-DOS.

Is there a simple way for the two systems to communicate and to share files. I had thought the process would be simple.

Thanks.

Sounds like you've got the Mac configured correctly but not Windows.
Have you got Password protected sharing enabled on windows? (Network and sharing center)

I'd suggest turning it off (certainly for the purposes of troubleshooting)
