Fresh data released on Tuesday suggests that the number of new apps entering the Apple App Store outpace those from the competing Google Market three to one, with developers leaning toward iOS as partly because of Android's platform fragmentation.
The apps are getting much less interesting. At least games are. There is such a cash grab going on with structuring games to encourage in-app purchases that I'm pretty much done with even looking at anything that offers coins for sale.
I agree. It's not about quantity. It should be about quality. Nowadays when I search for a type of app there's so many to choose from but many of them aren't good.

I dislike in-app purchasing. It's rather deceiving to get an app but later finding out that it won't do what I want it to until I purchase in-app features. The only time I'm okay with this is when they tell us first in the description what features are needed to be purchased in-app. I then can decided whether the whole price including in-app purchasing is worth getting. I usually avoid apps that require in-app purchase because I dislike being nickel-and-dimed for every feature.
