I have a Panasonic Lumix digital camera that I bought a Kingston 16GB SDHC card for. I am studying abroad, and forgot my cord back home in the US so I had to buy a memory card adapter down here in Chile. When I plugged in my memory card to the adapter, then plugged it into my computer nothing happened. The "access" light on the adapter is red, so I know it works, but it never changes from red. I am not sure what I need to do to get my computer (MacBook Pro) to read the adapter or card. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

The adapter is either the wrong kind or it's not working. I've had that happen to me before and had to return it for a new one. New one worked. Try exchanging it for another if you can.
