I checked my local Walmart, Radio Shack and Best Buy and they either don't have dual layer discs or they only have +R. Since I was told only -R works with my Mac I just got (listed in my signature below) I really need some of these discs but I can't find any. I have even searched some online and even though I type "DVD-R DL" it brings up "DVD+R DL".

Do they make the -R anymore?

I've never heard of that brand and the price sounds a bit too low for a 25 pack of DL disks. Have you actually tried burning a DL +R in your machine? I would try one first before looking around for -R disks. Most of the popular brands sold in stores as you say are of the +R type.

I have DVD+R Dual Layer but didn't want to waste a disc since I was told +R media doesn't work in the Superdrive in my Mac.

If a single layer DVD+R works in my drive will a +R DL? I will try a +R now to see then I might try a +R DL in it.

I haven't had to worry about disc compatibility for a decade in my PCs, this is weird again haha.

DVD+R was a no go. DVD-R worked perfect though.

I think I will need to replace this drive with one that reads and writes both since it seems -R DL are hard to come by.

Ok I have a DVD+R disc trapped in my drive. It couldn't mount it so there is nothing to right click and eject and I have a PC keyboard so I have been using F12 to eject and it isn't working. Rebooting twice, as soon as I use F12 it shows the eject symbol on the screen but never ejects.

How can I get this disc out of my drive?

Reboot and hold down your mouse key. The disk should eject.
