Aside from the obvious image that I and everone may have seen on the web of a G4 case being used as a mailbox, I'm at a loss as to what to do with mine. I bought a G4 back in, oh, errrmmm, 2001[ish] and it's been sitting under my desk for about 4 years now. It's a design classic, so could do with using it for something rather than simply binning it (like it did with the old CRT screen that came with it), preferably an outdoors use or in the garage even as I don't have space in the cottage. :Smirk:

any ideas? could be the coolest tool box ever?, but I'm sure somebody has done something really amazing with an old G4 case.

pics or suggestions gratefully received.

This is by far the best use I have ever seen for a G3 tower, the 4 would work easliy as well.

My vote is keep the G4 as a "computer"...and if you have a "nook" or a room in your home where having a computer would come in handy...pop an airport card into it...and use it as a quick device for getting on the internet, checking e-mail, playing mp3's, or internet radio.

This is what I use an older laptop for...in the kitchen to look up recipes. Then I don't even have to print out the recipe (just work from the computers screen)...I'm so "green"!;)

I'd go with what pigoo3 suggests as well. Turn it into a file and backup server even. Though a Beer Server G4 sounds like a good idea :D

I use my G4 as a piece of desk art. It only gets used...hmm...I guess to do things on, but the last time I used it, I set up a USB Wifi card on it that supports 802.11n.
