I get no sound in Itunes

First of all I have a Macbook pro that runs on Snow Leopard version 10.6.8. As well as I have the latest version of itunes. Now that I got that squared away. I have been taking my itunes music from my old macbook pro and putting them on cds. Well, I put the music in itunes and the counter moves, but no sound. Yes, I do have the volume up all the way on the volume bar in itunes and on my computers main volume. Still there is no sound at all. I tried reloading itunes, checking computer volume and all. What can I do to fix this?

Dumb question..Does the audio work in other programs?

Yes, I get sound everywhere else on my computer.
