Did you enable Photostream?

I had exactly this problem after I updated.

You will have to disable Photostream. The easiest way is to force iPhoto to launch into a new (empty) library, enable Photostream for that library (which automatically disables it for your old one) and then relaunch in the old library.

Hold down the Option key while launching iPhoto to do this.

i had this issue also. Genius apt said it was the new version of iPhoto, 9.2, that was corrupt. He sent a notice to software engineering dept and they are trying to fix the update. So don't update to 9.2.

Thanks for the info. I'll hold off for an apple update.

Works fine here as well. Someone in another thread mentioned that if you have a 3ivx component in your quicktime library that this could be causing the problem (wouldn't be the first time that component has caused problems, either).

Not at my Mac . . . would that be found in Application Support Folder, and are there specific files to remove, or just anything that includes 3ivx in the file name?

Update has sorted this problem and it was the 3ivx component from what I have read.
