WMV to MPEG?

Hey Everyone -

I need to convert my WMV videos to something other than WMV, perhaps mpeg. I just purchased a new iPod and iTunes can't import WMV files or play them so I can watch them on my iPod.

Does anyone know of a free app that would be able to do this for me? It doesn't have to convert to MPG, just it needs to convert to something that is viewable on my iPod...........

thats what bugs me about macs...there is very few software to do stuff such as this. Why can't apple make something that does that if 3rd parties won't. Grr...
