Typically I record music with a mic connected into my Powerbook, or some sort of audio/recording system connected into it. However, I recently have come across the need to record only with my internal mic (long story, don't ask, lol). I've been having a bit of trouble getting even mediocre sound quality with that.

Below is a sample that I recorded just a second ago, using my internal mic, with the track set to have no effects added to it. The internal mic is turned down some, and garageband's track volume is also turned down.

What settings can I tweak to get a better internal mic sound?
