Do I need to re-purchase apps?

If I purchase apps on my ipad2, am I able to also put these apps on an iphone without having to repurchase the app? I noticed that when I connect my ipad to my computer and itunes, it separates out the apps into ipad only applications and ipad and iphone applications. Does that mean that if I get an iphone, those apps that are ipad and iphone compatible can be downloaded into the iphone as well without me having to repurchase the application? Thanks for your help.

That's what it means - as long as you use the same Apple ID on both devices.
