After using Windows since 1998, I finally made the jump with a 13" Black Macbook 2,1 (Core 2 Duo, 4 GB ram) that I picked up in good shape for $450.
It's been extremely fun to start setting it up. I watched the June keynote and I'm really excited about iOS 5 and iCloud.
One thing that's funny is that I guess I went through the first ???? that newbies have...."why does it get hot?"
After looking around several forums, it quickly hit me that this is pretty normal. Then it also hit me that most if not all of the Windows lappys that I've previously used have big vent holes in the bottom, side and/or back for ventilation. Obviously the macbook has the ports on the side but no big vent holes...so obviously it's going to handle heat differently.
So, I am going to use some type of lap stand for when I'm using it on my couch or recliner....any suggestions on the best one for that?
Glad to finally make the switch.
