Why is my music folder showing more songs then there are?

So I went to re-encode a batch of songs so that they would be the right file format for my droid x but when it finished re-encoding I went to the folder and pressed get info and it shows that it has 1,879 files inside of it when it actually only has 260.

Does anybody have any idea on why it would show this?
