Has anyone run into random commercials or shows, or music playing automatically while iTunes is open???? Does anyone know how to stop them??? It seems to stop after I close iTunes but being that I enjoy the radio and pod-casts from my computer, I often have iTunes open. Any pointers?

If you're listening to radio stations and sponsored podcasts, there's a pretty good chance those will contain sponsor breaks... You won't be able to ever get around that unless you buy the music you're listening to and hitting shuffle.
