Been working on trying to get Windows 7 64bit to install with no luck.

First problem was the "cannot partition because files could not be moved" I fixed that and finally got a partition.

Now whenever I try to install Windows, I get the error: "Winload.exe is missing or corrupt," and the install never starts. This doesn't really make any sense to me, because it's before installation. Does any one have any insight to fix this problem?

Let's start by telling us about your Mac. Year and Model? Version of OS X you're running? And finally, tell us about the copy of Win 7 x 64. Is it a MS boxed copy or OEM System builders?

Let's see if we can sort this out.....

Did the Boot Camp assistant advise you to download a driver set from Apple and create a driver CD or DVD to use for installation of Win 7?

And a Google search for "winload.exe is missing or corrupt" yields plenty of hits but unfortunately they all have to do with the Windows boot sector being corrupt. I don't think that's your problem.

Boot Camp assistant didn't work for driver download, so I said I had the installation CD. (Didn't create a driver CD for 7).

Weird thing is, I tried my Windows 7 32bit CD, and everything installed fine. I'm ok with 32 bit anyways for now, since my MBP only has 4gb of RAM.

Yeah, my searches turned up the same results, most of them were problems with already installed versions of windows.

Any chance the MBP is similar to some Mac Pros. 64bit architecture however firmware is set to 32bit by default and only 32bit version of Windows 7 will install correctly? A sign of this is all the drivers being on the Snow Leopard disc?
