iOS 5 shows hooks for panoramas, 1080p, AirPort configs

Hooks have been discovered in the iOS 5 beta for several undisclosed features. Code references for the Camera app, for instance, point to native panorama support, something currently offered only by third-party apps. The option is not yet live, but could be toggled on in a later version of the beta....

So, only an Apple router (they call these AirPort Extreme, right?) can be set up using an iOS 5 device?

I believe this means that later on, routers made by Linksys/Cisco and the like may have their own set up apps...

Seriously, you don't really believe that, do you? If it's true that AirPort configs will exist on iOS 5 (which I can believe) it is part of the "PC Free" initiative, not a "get rid of everything else".

The article did mention first-party, did it not? Doesn't that mean Apple's router since this is an Apple device?

Wow, I completely misread your previous post. I thought you were implying that Apple was pushing toward having AirPort base stations only being able to be set up by an iOS device. My apologies.

But yes, to answer your previous question, according to the article only Apple's AirPort line could be set up with the built-in functionality of iOS 5.
