I just moved to a new house--same MacBook (running 10.5.8), same Airport Extreme that worked just fine at old house. Old house had Time Warner Cable internet, new house has Cox Cable internet.

--Airport connects okay
--Internet works just fine through Ethernet
--Using Cox Cable's supplied Arris modem

I called Cox and they tested everything from their end, and said the modem is working just fine, and that I needed to call Apple.

Help! I'm tired of sitting just 3 feet from the stupid modem in the corner of the room!

Thanks for whatever help you experts have.

Unless you reset the AEBS then its just a ethernet switch at this point and I will bet it retained your TWC settings.

Yay! It works! I re-set the AEBS to its factory setting (for the 3rd time), turned off the modem, and while I couldn't remove the backup battery, did manage to find the reset button. Now everybody's talking to each other, and I've happily moved out of the corner.

Thanks!
