how can i fix this? use snow leopard?

Yes, 10.6 comes with Boot Camp 3.0, which has 64-bit Windows 7ista support for most Macs.

However, if you don't have more than 4GB of RAM, there's no need to run 64-bit Windows. Not that it would be a bad idea to upgrade to 10.6...

There are no 64 bit drivers on the Leopard DVD for Vista or Windows 7. You will need to either install the 32 bit version of Vista and hope for the best or buy the Snow Leopard DVD and use it instead to install drivers.
