hi

weird drop outs affecting one of the machines on my network

running netgear wnr 2000 on V1.2.3.7 with wep encryption

an airport express (7.5.2) is logged into it wirelessly for music stuff

network includes

1) macbook
2) HP PC Laptop
3) PS3
4) 2010 iMac on OS X 10.6.7

all about a room away from router

1,2 and 3 NEVER have any problems.

the 2010 iMac drops out about once or twice a week.

either

1) webpages stop loading
2) webpages load very very slowly
3) the imac "forgets" the WEP password and when you try and enter it you get a connection timeout

I can fix it sometimes by either

1) powercycling the router
2) Powercycling imac airport
3) powercycling imac
4) renewing dhcp leases

Any ideas at all very welcomed!

Is there any special reason you are using WEP as it's rather insecure and others have had issues with it also. Try WPA or WPA2 if your other devices support it. Much more secure and reliable.

If you still have issues with the iMac after that, let us know.
