Recently had a new hard drive installed in my Mac G5. Now I can play but
cannot import cds to iTunes. Any help, please?

Any error messages? Does your CD/DVD work otherwise?

The error message was "the current encoder setting for bit rate and sample rate are not valid for this file." Thanks for the response.

Sounds like you might have an inappropriate custom setting for importing tracks set. In iTunes, go to iTunes > Preferences... > Import Settings... > choose "AAC Encoder" for "Import Using" and either "High Quality" or "iTunes Plus" for "Setting." You could also set it to import your tracks as MP3s but try using a preset setting.
