If you got Panther on you new ibook then it cant run OS 9 (that capability was taken out years ago) also no new software is being made for OS 9 and down. Just use OS X for a while it will grow on you and you will love it soon. But if you want to have a newish laptop that will run OS 9 I suggest going on Ebay and getting a titanium PowerBook (their speeds range from 600mhz to 1ghz they will be able to boot into both OS 9 and OS X.

If you do want to run Mac OS 9, you'll need the original OS 9 install CD that came with whatever model you have. A generic OS 9 CD won't work, because there are actually many different versions of OS 9 with the same version number.

$12 but not currently in stock, I don't know why you would want OS 9, no current support and it was never that great to begin with.
