I bought a Macally G-S350SUSA external drive with a 1TB Seagate SATA drive and it has been working fine until now.
The drive will turn on, and spin (seemingly normal) but my MBP will not detect the drive.
I've tested all of the ports (on both the MBP and the drive) and eliminated any faulty connections or cables.
I have read that Macally ships weak power supplies with this unit, and some users have experienced problems with the spin-up. But I don't know if this is the problem I am experiencing. If the power supply was too weak, wouldn't the drive be unable to spin?
any help is greatly appreciated as this drive is my time machine disk
