When I open Network Preferences there is no option for an ethernet connection, only internal modem and airport. I am using an iMac G5 20" ALS with OS 10.4.11 It has an ethernet port on the back but doesnt seem to recognize it. Is there a way to configure the port? From other discussions that I have read there should be a show popup menu but I dont see it in the Network Preference pane. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank u,

What does the System Profiler show for an ethernet port?

If it does appear in ASP, go into System preferences > Network and hit the little '+' button and see if you can add Ethernet Port there.
