My iMac OS X isn't connecting to our residential wireless network. It reads that the connection is there but won't 'catch' it.keeps giving be a connection timeout. At first I tried going to tcp/ip settings and found that I had no info there even when renewing dhcp lease. Itried toconfigure manually, but had jk luck -- now, it won't even let me set it back to automatic, it just keeps going back to use dhcp with manual address!

It's recognizing our home network, I just can't get the settings to come in right for the connection to be made. Could use some advice in what to do; I'm sending this via my iPhone so I know it's not a modem or router issue. Do I need a new airport card? I don't get it, five hours ago everything was fine!

So presumably you resolved all the router issues from this extensive thread: http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/os...27360-need-some-assistance-5.html#post1193907 ?

Because the issues there were definately your router settings.

It's the router, running a DHCP server, that's resposible for issuing any device on the network with an IP address.

We proved on the previous thread that connecting directly to the router provided an IP address and connection without issue.

99% sure the problem remains to be the robustness of the wireless signal being output by the router.
