AirPort problem

I'm new to the Mac-forums but I really need help. I have a dongle that I use to connect to the internet, recently I have tried to connect the dongle internet to my iPod (i've done this before with AirPort in the system preferences) but when I try to do it now it says it has a self-assigned IP address but cannot connect to the internet. Please can someone tell me how to solve this problem.

It means it didn't get a DHCP address from your router. Reboot your router, see if that helps. If not check your router configuration and that DHCP is enabled.

try that, if that doesnt work, go into airport preferences - advanced - tcp/ip - renew DHCP lease
